The Early Warning Network is proud to announce a new Corporate Partnership with Bush Heritage Australia, a leading not-for-profit organisation that is committed to protecting Australia’s unique ecosystems and wildlife.
Founded in 1991, Bush Heritage Australia actively acquires and manages lands across Australia that are critical for the survival of native species and habitats. By strategically selecting areas that can serve as corridors or buffers to existing conservation zones, Bush Heritage Australia aims to create a more extensive network of protected landscapes. Their efforts are grounded in rigorous scientific research and monitoring, ensuring that conservation strategies are effective and adaptive to environmental changes.
Under the new partnership, Early Warning Network will provide its state-of-the-art severe weather forecasting and alerting services to Bush Heritage Australia at no cost which will bolster the conservation efforts of the organisation by equipping them with real-time, accurate data that can help mitigate the impacts of severe weather on vulnerable ecosystems and species, and which will assist in keeping staff and employees safe.

Early Warning Network will also provide complimentary access to the Climatics platform, empowering Bush Heritage Australia to analyse long-term climate trends across their conservation lands, enhancing their ability to make informed land management decisions, improve risk assessments, and tailor biodiversity conservation plans. With these insights, Bush Heritage Australia can strategically plan restoration efforts and strengthen its advocacy for sustainable land management, ensuring that its conservation strategies are both effective and adaptable to the changing climate.
National Fire Program Manager of Bush Heritage Australia, Rhys Swain, said “Our organisation operates across the country in often isolated, remote settings. Safety is our highest priority, and we feel the Early Warning Network will provide us with the assurance that our workers have the most up-to-date and location-focused information available. We plan to use severe weather services to alert our remote field workers and volunteers of incoming natural hazards such as storms, heat waves, and bushfires. We will also use the Climatics platform to better inform our decisions when looking to acquire new properties, considering trends in climate events in the property’s location and surrounds.”
Early Warning Network sees this partnership as an opportunity to demonstrate the value of their services in supporting not only businesses but also non-profit organisations in their mission to protect the environment. "Our technology can play a crucial role in conservation efforts, and we are thrilled to support Bush Heritage Australia’s important work," stated Kerry Plowright, CEO of Early Warning Network and Climatics.
The partnership comes at a milestone moment for Bush Heritage Australia, with the organisation recently acquiring Evelyn Downs, a former cattle station located within the South Australian Arid Rangelands - one of the largest reserve acquisitions in Bush Heritage’s 33-year history.
